In the summer of 2020, the life of 17-year-old Marcus Moore, a Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri. On the evening of July 27th, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Switzer Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle containing multiple individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported the victims to a local hospital, but for Marcus Moore and another victim, 36-year-old
Martinez Ursery, their injuries proved fatal. Both men were pronounced dead, leaving behind grieving families and a community searching for answers. The circumstances that led to the fatal shooting remain under investigation.
To date, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the murders of Marcus Moore and Martinez Ursery. The case remains an open and ongoing investigation as law enforcement continues to seek information from the public that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible for this violent act. The community has held vigils and memorials in honor of the young victim, calling for an end to the gun violence that claimed his life.
