Lewis Williams Jr., 21, a Black man, was out at the Sugar Pines Apartments in Florissant, Missouri, when the night turned violent. Close to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020, officers from the St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct were sent to the complex on the 11000 block of Sugar Pines Court after reports of gunfire. In the parking lot, they found Williams suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was rushed to a hospital, where he died hours later.
