On an August evening in 2020, a young man named Tornez Burton, a male resident of Mexico, Missouri, lost his life in a burst of gunfire at Garfield Park. What was intended to be a fistfight between two groups of people escalated into a fatal encounter. Burton had arrived at the park with Javon Hornbeak, where they were met by Jzyeshawn Palmer and Davayjion Blackwell, who intended to fight.
