On the afternoon of August 9, 2020, violent events unfolded in Kansas City, Missouri, resulting in the untimely death of 19-year-old male Maxwell D. Hill. The incident took place in the parking lot of the Tony Aguirre Community Center, a public space located in the 2000 block of West Pennway Street. Hill was present at the location when he encountered an unknown individual.
Witnesses observed an interaction between Hill and the suspect which rapidly escalated into a confrontation, shattering the safety of the community center grounds.
During the altercation, the situation turned deadly as shots were fired, striking Hill. The assailant immediately fled the scene following the shooting, escaping before law enforcement officers could arrive.
