Sabrina Starr Page, a 29-year-old Caucasian female from Holden, Missouri, died on September 26, 2020, from a gunshot wound. In the late hours of that Saturday, deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of SW Route U in Holden following a report of a woman being shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Sabrina Page deceased at the scene.
During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement officials arrested her 30-year-old husband, Daniel Allen Page, in connection with her death. The Johnson County Prosecutor's Office filed charges against him the following day, and he was held without bond. The charges included second-degree murder, a Class A felony, along with nine other felony counts, four of which were for armed criminal action.
Daniel Page was arraigned on September 28, 2020, where he entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. Following his plea, a counsel-status hearing was scheduled for October of that year, and a trial-setting hearing was set for November. In February 2021, Daniel Page again pleaded not guilty to the charges, which at that point specified a Class A Felony for Murder in the Second Degree and nine other felony charges, including four counts of an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. A case review was scheduled for March 2021, and a five-day jury trial was anticipated to begin in October 2021.
