In the early hours of a December morning in Saint-Louis, Missouri, a violent encounter abruptly ended the life of 30-year-old Corbin Turman. On December 7, 2020, Turman, a male resident of the city, was at the Phillips 66 gas station situated at 1113 Salisbury Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Shortly after 2 a.m., the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department received a call reporting a shooting at that location.
Upon their arrival at the gas station, officers discovered Turman lying
in the parking lot, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation revealed a grim sequence of events. Assailants had shot Turman while he was still inside his vehicle, a 2016 Nissan Altima with temporary Missouri tags. They then dragged him from the car and fled the scene in his vehicle. The motive for the fatal shooting is believed to have been a carjacking.
Emergency services transported Turman to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. At the scene of the crime, investigators found evidence of the violent struggle, including at least five evidence markers and a firearm left amidst shattered glass. Despite the ongoing investigation by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division, no arrests have been made in connection with Corbin Turman's murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Authorities have continued to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
