In the quiet woods near Warsaw, Missouri, a heart-wrenching story unfolded in early March of 2021. Three-year-old Mayson Paul Peak, a Caucasian male, was found deceased on March 1st, bringing a tragic end to a desperate search. Alongside him were his four-year-old brother, Kaiden, and their father, Darrell Peak.
The events leading to this grim discovery began when Darrell Peak, reportedly struggling with depression, left his home with his two young sons.
He was seen with the boys walking along Highway 65 near Warsaw, where concerned passersby offered assistance, but their help was refused. This would be the last time the father and his children were seen alive.
Three days later, their bodies were discovered in a remote structure. The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed the devastating details: Mayson and his brother had been shot and killed by their father, who then took his own life. The investigation concluded that this was a tragic murder-suicide, and as a result, no arrests were made in connection with the boys' deaths.
