In the early morning hours of September 12, 2021, authorities in St. Louis, Missouri, were called to a scene in the Downtown West neighborhood following reports of a shooting. Around 2:00 a.m., police officers arrived at the 1300 block of Convention Plaza, located near North 13th Street, where they discovered an unresponsive individual lying in the street. The area, typically quiet at that hour, became the center of a homicide investigation as first responders assessed the situation.
