On October 31, 2012, Crista A. Bytheway, aged 29, was found shot to death on the near-north side of Indianapolis. Her body was discovered lying in the road in the 600 block of Eugene Street around 10:50 p.m. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department began investigating the case, speaking with residents in the area, but no suspects were immediately identified.
