Scott Goodman, aged 30, was last seen on March 14, 2019, in Norfolk, Nebraska. On that day, Goodman attempted to drive through an area affected by severe flooding. He drove around a flood barrier and was caught in rising waters, which swept his vehicle into the North Fork of the Elkhorn River. Witnesses last saw him standing on top of his car as it was carried away by the fast-moving waters. Rescue attempts were made, but emergency personnel were unable to reach him due to the dangerous conditions.
Despite extensive searches along the river, no sign of Goodman has been found. He is presumed to have drowned in the floodwaters, which were part of a historic flood that caused significant damage in Nebraska. At the time of his disappearance, Goodman was a senior at Wayne State College, studying biology, and was set to graduate later that year. His case remains open as authorities continue to search for his remains.
