In the summer of 1965, a young girl named Jill Lynn Rosenthal vanished from Atlantic City, New Jersey, leaving behind a story of heartbreak and a mystery that would remain hidden for decades. Born on October 27, 1963, along with her twin brother, Jack, Jill's early life was reportedly marked by neglect and abuse. The twins were said to have endured harsh conditions at the hands of their parents, Gilbert and Marie Rosenthal.
Then, around July 2, 1965, at the age of 21 months, Jill disappeared without a trace. Her disappearance was not immediately reported to the authorities, and the circumstances surrounding what happened to her remain unknown.
The story of Jill's disappearance is inextricably linked to the incredible journey of her twin brother. Around the same time Jill went missing, a toddler, later identified as Jack, was found abandoned in a stroller outside a department store in Newark, New Jersey. In a strange twist of fate, the abandoned boy was mistakenly identified as Paul Fronczak, a baby who had been abducted from a Chicago hospital the previous year. For decades, Jack was raised as Paul Fronczak. It wasn't until 2012, through DNA testing, that he discovered he was not biologically related to the Fronczak family. This shocking revelation set him on a path to uncover his true identity, which eventually led him to the name Jack Rosenthal and the stunning discovery that he had a twin sister, Jill, who had been missing since they were both infants.
The search for Jill Rosenthal is an active missing person investigation. Tragically, both of their biological parents are now deceased, taking with them any certain knowledge of what became of Jill. Jack Rosenthal continues to search for his sister, holding out hope that she may have also been abandoned and is still alive somewhere, perhaps unaware of her true origins. Due to the family's history, there are no known photographs of Jill. To aid in the search, forensic artists at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children created an age-progressed composite image of what Jill might look like today, based on photos of her family members.
