On March 3, 1989, 26-year-old Daniel Scott Tullar and three other crew members disappeared in the Shelikof Strait, Alaska, and are presumed to be deceased following a boating accident. Tullar, along with skipper Jack White, 33, Dennis Frye, 26, and Michael Wheeler, 27, were aboard the 108-foot longline halibut fishing vessel, the Ocean Hope II, when it was lost in heavy weather.
