On June 16, 1989, 12-year-old Janelle Lavern Gerlitz was last seen in Soldotna, Alaska, aboard a plane that is believed to have crashed into the Cook Inlet. The aircraft was returning from a bible camp located in Port Alsworth when it reportedly ran out of fuel over the water. Janelle had brown hair, hazel eyes, and a mole on her left cheek.
