Richard Yoshio Shiroma, a 60-year-old man from Kaneohe, Hawaii, was last seen on June 16, 2004, after going fishing on his 25-foot boat. Shiroma was an experienced fisherman and had radioed a friend earlier in the day, stating that he had hooked a large marlin and was towing it back. However, Shiroma never made it back to shore. His boat was later found run aground near Turtle Bay Resort with the engine still running, and the marlin was tied to the back of the boat.
