In the late summer of 1972, a fishing trip off the coast of Kaneohe, Hawaii, ended in mystery for 33-year-old Arthur Allen and his friend, Moses Kahiapo. On August 16th, the two men launched a 17-foot white Reinell fiberglass boat from the Heeia Kea Pier. Their plan was to spend the day trolling for aku, approximately 15 to 20 miles offshore.
