Kenan Knieriem, age 58, was last seen on September 24, 2011, during a fishing trip off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was fishing on his boat, the *Ikaika*, about 13 miles south of Waikiki when he fell overboard while trying to reel in a large fish. Despite immediate efforts by those on board, including his wife and two friends, to rescue him, Knieriem was swept away by strong currents and eventually disappeared underwater.
