Joaquim "Jack" Prata, a 55-year-old man from Cranston, Rhode Island, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on October 3, 2015. He was last seen by his coworkers at a job site on Braley Road in Freetown, Massachusetts, around 3:30 p.m. Later that evening, at 6:45 p.m., he was captured on surveillance leaving his company headquarters in New Bedford in his work vehicle.
This vehicle was later found abandoned back at the Braley Road worksite, with Prata's personal belongings inside, including his wallet, credit cards, phone, and a handwritten note.
The note left behind indicated distress, reading, "Without love at home, life is hard, without luck, life is impossible, don't come looking for me." This deeply concerned his family and coworkers, who reported him missing shortly after. Despite extensive searches by the Freetown and Massachusetts State Police, including the use of K-9 units and helicopters, no trace of Prata has been found.
