across furniture, walls, and ceilings. Detectives described the interior as “ransacked,” with blood appearing brown and dried, giving the impression it had been left uncleaned for days.
Neighbors came forward with chilling testimony. The night of **July 26, 2018**, one neighbor reported hearing Rebecca scream “Help me!” followed a short time later by loud thumps sounding like a body being thrown against the wall. Despite the alarming nature of the sounds, they did not initially notify authorities.
Investigators focused early on Rebecca’s boyfriend, **Jeffery Andre McDonald**, who also lived in the same complex. Court documents revealed they had been dating for about a month. Within hours of her disappearance, McDonald was seen driving her SUV. When police located the vehicle at a tow lot, it was found covered in blood.
On **July 31**, deputies located a female torso under a white sheet along Greens Bayou under the West Hardy Road overpass—close to the Dominion Park area.
