Loraine Migl Light, 21, was last seen on November 23, 1989, in Spring, Texas. On the day of her disappearance, she had purchased groceries for Thanksgiving dinner, which she was preparing for her three-year-old daughter, before going out with friends. Light was dropped off at her apartment at around 2:00 a.m. by her mother-in-law, but when her sister returned home an hour later, Loraine was gone. The groceries were still on the floor, and a turkey was defrosting in the sink.
A message left on the answering machine claimed to be from Light, stating she was going to Mexico for a few days, but her sister, Cynthia, doubted the message was actually from Loraine, as the voice and the details did not seem to match.
Concerns grew when Loraine failed to attend Thanksgiving dinner, leading her family to report her missing. Despite initial investigations, the case took a concerning turn years later when rumors emerged. Six years after her disappearance, two witnesses reported that Loraine’s boyfriend's father had made suspicious remarks about her fate, suggesting that her body would never be found. Unfortunately, the report of this lead, along with most of Loraine's case file, has since been lost, stalling the investigation.
