The morning of September 27, 2019, began like any other for Charles Joseph Browning III and his common-law wife as they made a stop at an IHOP restaurant in the Tillman's Corner area of Mobile, Alabama. Between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., his wife went inside to use the restroom, a seemingly insignificant moment that would mark the beginning of an enduring mystery.
