Edwin John Satterthwaite, a 52-year-old man from Theodore, Alabama, was last seen on November 7, 1998, at his residence on Kingsbridge Road. He was scheduled to meet his sister in Louisiana for Thanksgiving, but he never arrived, and no one has heard from him since. On November 12, 1998, his 1993 Lincoln Town Car was found abandoned at the corner of Highway 45 and Clarke Avenue in Prichard, Alabama.
