In the winter of 1970, 23-year-old Richard Edward Duffy's life took a turn that would leave his family searching for answers for decades. A native of New Jersey, Richard, also known as Rich, was one of five siblings raised in a single-parent home. He made the decision to leave high school and enlist in the Marines in 1965.
