William Earl Clifton, age 30, went missing on December 10, 1982, from Chocowinity, North Carolina. He was last seen at the VIP Tavern, a now-closed bar in the area. That evening, Clifton received a phone call at his home in Washington, North Carolina, after which he left abruptly.
