In the late autumn of 1988, in Shreveport, Louisiana, a 27-year-old woman named Catherine Roberson was living a life that, to those who knew her, was troubled by a volatile relationship with her husband, Billy. Catherine, a woman with shoulder-length brown hair and a distinctive tattoo of the letters "CM" on one of her arms, was last definitively seen on November 12, 1988. After that day, she was never heard from again, sparking concern among those who were aware of the abusive nature of her marriage. Her disappearance, sadly, did not come as a complete surprise to some who knew the couple and the difficulties within their relationship. The circumstances surrounding Catherine's disappearance quickly pointed towards a grim possibility. An investigation into her and her husband's apartment uncovered evidence of a violent struggle, including the presence of bloodstains, which suggested that foul play was involved. The initial suspicions of those who knew of the couple's turbulent relationship seemed to be tragically confirmed. The investigation intensified, focusing on the actions and statements of her husband in the days and weeks following her last known whereabouts. Approximately one month after Catherine was last seen, the case took a significant turn when her husband confessed to killing her during an argument. He provided a detailed account of the events that transpired and claimed to have disposed of her body on a family property located just outside of Burlington, Texas. Despite his confession and the information he provided, extensive searches of the 100-acre property yielded no results. To this day, Catherine Roberson's remains have never been recovered. Although her husband's confession provided a strong belief that she was the victim of a homicide, the lack of a body has left the case unresolved. Decades have passed without any new leads, leaving her family without the closure of laying her to rest.
