James Abell, a 39-year-old man from Aynor, South Carolina, was last seen on November 13, 1999. On that day, he left his home with the intention of traveling to Myrtle Beach to collect debts. Abell, who was involved in selling cars, had ties to several states, including Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida. His family reported him missing when he did not return, and his disappearance raised suspicion due to his sudden and uncharacteristic departure without notifying anyone.
