On the morning of June 17, 2007, a day that also happened to be Father's Day, 22-year-old Kareem Jamaal Ward, known affectionately as 'Reem,' started his day at his home in Horry County, South Carolina. He spent some time playing with his dog and speaking with his cousin before taking a shower and changing his clothes.
