Muna Mahamud Haji, a 25-year-old woman, disappeared on October 3, 2003, while on a boat trip at Lake Travis near Austin, Texas. She and a companion, Robert Canuelle, rented a boat from the VIP Marina that day. Approximately one hour after their rental, the boat was found adrift and unoccupied in the Cottonwood Cove area. Both individuals' personal belongings, including their truck, were accounted for at the marina, but neither of their bodies were recovered.
Muna was last seen wearing a black and brown two-piece swimsuit. She was described as 5'2" tall, weighing 110 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. Originally from Somalia, she had been living in the United States since 1997. There are suspicions that both she and her companion may have accidentally drowned, but no definitive evidence has emerged to confirm what happened.
The case remains unresolved, and efforts by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team to locate their bodies were unsuccessful. The case is still classified as "Lost/Injured Missing" and continues to be investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.Last Seen: Oct 3, 2003
