Brenda Moore, a 19-year-old from Austin, Texas, was last seen on March 7, 1976. She worked as a nurse's aide and was last spotted on the east side of Austin at approximately 3:15 p.m. that day. Five days after her disappearance, on March 12, her co-workers found her abandoned car on Coleto Street with the keys locked inside. At the time, Brenda was separated from her husband, Willie P. Moore, and was believed to be involved with another man who drove a blue Chevrolet pickup truck.
Her husband speculated that she might have left town with this individual, though no confirmation has been found.
Brenda's case is one of three mysterious disappearances of young African-American women in Austin during the spring of 1976. The other two women, Jennifer Barton and Debra Stewart, vanished under similar circumstances. Although no direct evidence links the three cases, investigators have considered the possibility that they may be related. Despite extensive investigations, Brenda’s whereabouts remain unknown, and her case is still classified as unsolved.
