Richard Allen Reid, a 61-year-old man, was last seen in Missoula, Montana, on July 21, 2020. His last known location was the Decker Truck Stop located on Expressway Boulevard. On the day of his disappearance, Reid abruptly quit his job at the truck stop, left a goodbye message for his family, and departed on foot. He has not been seen or heard from since that day. His case was officially reported to the Missoula Police Department on August 14, 2020.
At the time he went missing, Richard Reid was described as a white male, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has graying hair, hazel eyes, and wore a beard. Reid has several distinguishing tattoos: a ribbon with the word "Love" on his left chest, and a cross with five "hash" marks on his right middle finger. He typically dressed in western-style shirts and boots and wears eyeglasses.
While physically healthy, Reid has a history of depression, which has led to concerns that he may have been suicidal at the time of his disappearance. In response to his disappearance, the Montana Department of Justice issued a Missing/Endangered Person Advisory. The investigation has been hampered by a lack of significant leads.
