Frederick "Fritz" Frey, a 63-year-old experienced hunter and woodsman, disappeared on November 14, 1960, after leaving his home in Missoula, Montana, to hunt in the Deep Creek area. Frey, known for his outdoor skills, was well-equipped for such excursions. However, a snowstorm struck on the day he left, followed by more snow the next day, complicating the search efforts.
