On a late autumn day, 44-year-old Joseph Matthew Johnson vanished from Carolina Beach, North Carolina, leaving behind a profound mystery. On November 22, 2021, he was seen on video surveillance at approximately 11:00 AM, departing from the Federal Point Yacht Club. He was alone, piloting his 19-foot 2006 Marine Clearwater center console boat out into the open water.
