Jonathan Kyle Brackett, an 18-year-old from Carolina Beach, North Carolina, was last seen on August 1, 2009, near a wooded area in Surf City, where he had been visiting family. Prior to his disappearance, Brackett had told his mother that he planned to join the military, and according to her, he was in a positive mood during their conversation.
