On June 4, 1992, his 1987 silver and black Hyundai was found abandoned on an isolated logging road near Clendenin, West Virginia, nearly 850 miles away from his last known location. The vehicle contained personal items such as a sleeping bag and clothing, which his ex-wife identified as belonging to him. Suspiciously, the car's Florida license plate had been replaced with stolen Texas plates, and a fingerprint was found on the rearview mirror. Despite this lead, there was no sign of Rosenblum at the scene, and the case grew cold.
