In the summer of 2018, a 51-year-old man named Walter Vernon McCraw, known to some as Vernon, vanished from Shelby, North Carolina. The last confirmed sighting of him was on July 11, 2018. Earlier that day, his family had dropped him off at a Waffle House on East Dixon Boulevard.
