Dimitri Lee Perez, 24, went missing on April 14, 2022, from Leakey, Texas. He was last seen leaving his residence on foot around 6 to 9 AM, heading toward his mother's home on North Saddle Mountain. Later that morning, he was spotted walking along Little Dry Frio Road, and there was an unconfirmed sighting three days later near the intersection of Highway 83 and Ranch Road 1051, a remote area.
His disappearance was officially reported to the Real County Sheriff’s Office on April 16, 2022, by his mother, Brandi Pichardo, and sister.
Dimitri had recently returned to Leakey after the birth of his daughter in 2021. Known for enjoying nature, he would often communicate his plans with family, but no contact was made after his last sighting, raising concern. Dimitri left behind his belongings, including his vehicle and essential items like his glasses, which he needs regularly. Despite extensive searches, including efforts by Texas EquuSearch and local volunteers, no significant leads have been found.
His family has expressed frustration with the lack of progress in the investigation and has organized fundraisers to support ongoing search efforts, including offering a reward for information. His case is especially worrying, as two other young adults went missing within a 50-mile radius around the same time, contributing to a growing sense of unease in the community.
