Jonathan Jacob Groce, 30, was last seen leaving his residence in Cibolo, Texas, on October 8, 2010, at approximately 12:30 p.m. He was driving a black 1986 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon en route to his job in Converse, Texas, but he never arrived. His vehicle was later found abandoned near the Guadalupe River along Highway 46 and Gruene Road in New Braunfels. Inside the car, investigators found an empty handgun case and a note that read, "I'm sorry. All the lies and what killed me.
Tell the truth." The keys were locked inside the vehicle.
Before his disappearance, Groce had been going through personal struggles, including a recent divorce and association with a troubling crowd. His family noted he had been using drugs during that time. Since that day, there has been no activity on his bank accounts or credit cards, leading investigators to believe that he may have taken his own life, though his body has never been recovered.
