Scott Paul Hayes, a 19-year-old from Stafford, California, was last seen on January 8, 1996. Hayes had informed his roommate that he was planning to travel to Southern California to visit his girlfriend. He packed all his belongings into his maroon Chevrolet Sonoma pickup truck and departed. However, the next day, on January 9, his truck was found abandoned along Highway 101 in Redcrest, California. The truck was locked, out of fuel, and contained all of his personal belongings.
