John Stewart Campbell, an 18-year-old freshman at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, went missing on February 16, 1985. A bright student, Campbell was last seen on campus, and his disappearance has remained a mystery for nearly four decades. Described as standing between 5'11" and 6'0" with blonde hair, blue eyes, and distinguishing facial freckles, Campbell was known to be experiencing depression at the time of his disappearance, adding complexity to his case.
