In the small town of Fairview, Alberta, a young Indigenous mother named Shae Lynn McAllister vanished after completing her shift at a local restaurant. The 20-year-old woman, a member of the Horse Lake First Nation, was last seen on the night of July 4, 2019. After leaving her job at the A&W at approximately 10:35 p.m., her last known location was a nearby Shell gas station at 11:22 p.m.
From that moment on, no one has reported seeing or hearing from Shae Lynn, a woman described by her loved ones as having a bright and friendly personality, deeply devoted to her two young children.
The initial response to Shae Lynn's disappearance was a missing person investigation, with her family and community holding onto hope for her safe return. Described as being 5'8' tall and weighing around 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, her sudden absence was out of character and sparked immediate concern. As days turned into weeks and then years without any contact, the nature of the investigation shifted.
