In the spring of 1967, a 23-year-old Indigenous woman named Margaret Mildred Batoche, also known by the nicknames Wanchisco and Millie, vanished. She was a resident of the Bonnyville-Moose Lake area in Alberta. Margaret was last seen on May 26, 1967, at the York Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. Known for always keeping in contact with her family and friends, her silence grew concerning.
