On September 14, 1974, Albert Crow and a friend attempted to cross Harrop Lake, Manitoba, in a canoe, despite high winds and rough water. A second party in another canoe was ahead of Albert's and at one point in the crossing observed that the canoe was no longer visible. The shoreline was searched and the lake dragged without success.
