On September 22, 1981, the Churchill RCMP received a call from Mrs. Esmoil, who said that her two sons and two friends were late returning from a canoe trip. On August 18 1981, Brian Dean Esmoil and his brother headed out on an extended canoe trip from Leaf Rapids to Churchill, Manitoba, with two friends. Numerous items belonging to the men were found on the shore. Three of the four travellers' bodies were recovered in the Churchill River, and the cause of death was determined to be drownin ...
