William Andersen and a co-worker were designated to conduct a wildlife survey in northern Manitoba. The men had flown into North Indian Lake on June 26th and departed by canoe from there. On the second day when the men attempted to shoot some rapids, their canoe hit a rock which overturned, throwing both men into the river. William was not seen again. Air and land searches failed to locate William and he is presumed dead as a result of drowning. No foul play is suspected in this matter.
