In November 2018, the quiet community of Flatrock, Newfoundland and Labrador, was unsettled by the discovery of an abandoned car. The 58-year-old Apu Akbar was reported missing on November 8, 2018, after his grey Honda Civic was found in the area of Kavanaugh's Lane. His roommates confirmed they had last seen him two days prior, on November 6, 2018, at his residence in St. John's.
