Carl Robert Shull, a 50-year-old man originally from Wyoming, was last seen on November 28, 2013. While some agencies report he was last seen in Natrona County, Wyoming, other sources state his last confirmed sighting was in Aurora, Colorado. In January 2012, Shull had relocated to Colorado with the intention of investing in the state's marijuana industry. At the time of his disappearance, he was living with a business partner. This business partner reported that Shull left their residence following a heated argument and has not been seen or heard from since.
Following his disappearance, Shull's debit card was used on multiple occasions, though evidence suggests he was not the one making the transactions. On the day he went missing, his card was used at a gas station in Aurora, with surveillance footage showing an unidentified individual making the purchase. The next day, the card was used at gas stations in Elise, Nebraska, and Fort Morgan, Colorado, and for a $70 meal at a steakhouse in Aurora. On December 3, a man used the card to buy cigarettes at a Murphy's Express gas station, signing Shull's name. The final use of the card was on December 8 at the initial Aurora gas station, at which point the account was depleted.
Authorities suspect foul play in Shull's disappearance and both Colorado and Wyoming police are investigating the case. Shull may have been driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with Wyoming license plates at the time he went missing. He may also have been accompanied by his Blue Heeler dog named Bez, who has a microchip implant. Neither Shull, his truck, nor his dog have been located. The case remains unsolved, and his family continues to seek answers.
