Dennis Eugene Johnson, an 8-year-old boy from Inyokern, California, disappeared on July 12, 1966, while on a family camping trip in Yellowstone National Park. The family had stopped for a picnic at the Cascade Picnic Area, about a quarter of a mile north of Canyon Junction. During the outing, Dennis’s 7-year-old sister wandered off, prompting Dennis and his father to search in different directions. While the father found his daughter, Dennis was never seen again.
