Carl Joel Swinney, a 39-year-old man, has been missing since December 19, 2008. He was last seen at his brother's residence in the Woodcrest subdivision of New Caney, Texas, near the intersection of FM 242 and U.S. Highway 59, at approximately 8:30 a.m.. Swinney's brother had gone to administer his medication when he discovered that Swinney was gone. It is believed that he departed from the home on foot, as he did not have access to a vehicle.
Following his disappearance, authorities conducted a thorough search of the area surrounding his brother's home, but no trace of Swinney was found. Investigators have indicated that foul play is not suspected in his case. One possibility that has been considered is that Swinney may be residing in a homeless shelter.
