On July 5, 2004, 37-year-old L.C. Matlock was last seen in Waterloo, Iowa. An acquaintance witnessed him crossing the Mullen Avenue Bridge on west Mullen Avenue, after which he was never heard from again. His sister, Josephine Matlock, also reported seeing him walk across the bridge and disappear into the distance. At the time of his disappearance, Matlock was wearing a white Denver Broncos Terrell Owens jersey, blue jeans, and black Nike sneakers.
He is described as a Black male, standing 6'2" tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Two weeks after he was last seen, on July 19, 2004, Matlock was officially reported missing. In 2004, Matlock lived by himself in Waterloo and was an employee at the Tyson IBP plant. Concerns were raised when officials from Tyson noticed his absence from work and the fact that he had not collected his final paycheck. This prompted them to contact his family, who were also unaware of his whereabouts.
An investigation into his disappearance revealed no activity on his bank account since he went missing. Authorities have stated that there is no evidence of foul play in connection with his case. However, there is concern for his well-being as he has a medical condition that requires medication, leading the Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse to classify him as "endangered".
