In the summer of 2022, a mother's disappearance from her home in the Hawaiian Shores subdivision in Pāhoa, Hawaii, left her family and community with lingering questions and deep concern. Jennifer Michelle Showen, a 42-year-old woman originally from Montana, had moved to the Big Island several years prior with her two young sons, building a life in the tropical paradise.
