Rodney Wayne Longman, 20, was last seen on May 15, 1985, in Miami, Florida, in the company of another man and a pregnant woman. He has not been seen or heard from since. Longman, who went by Rod, was described as a good kid who had fallen in with a bad crowd. He had dropped out of high school and was working for his grandfather.
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Longman's journey to Miami was preceded by his involvement in a problematic drug deal in his home state. This incident is believed to be one of the reasons he left Nebraska on March 14, 1985. Before his disappearance, he had told a friend that he was going to Texas. After leaving Nebraska, Longman sent a few postcards to his family, but this communication eventually ceased. His last known vehicle was a yellow 1984 Ford Pinto with Nebraska license plates.
At the time of his disappearance, Longman was 5'11" and weighed approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair and green or gray eyes. He had a scar on his left collarbone and wore prescription glasses or contacts. Although his Social Security number was reportedly used in Miami in 1992, it is not confirmed if it was Longman who used it. The Nebraska State Police are investigating his case, which remains unsolved.
